Ski socks are the most engineered sock you'll own: shin padding where the boot tongue presses, flat toe seams that don't rub, ventilation zones over the top of the foot, and graduated fit that keeps everything anchored through a thousand flex cycles. Put them on last before boots, check for zero wrinkles, and never tuck a base layer cuff into them — thermal bottoms end above the boot, always.
